  1. shame on the CDC and shame those who would trumpet this crap to promote biking. Falling back on fallacious logic to support an already reasonable conclusion only muddies the waters for an already confused citizenry, smacks of bad nanny stateism, and does nothing to better identify and address real barriers to biking. Adding pressure on already pressured parents in this form does not give them any tools to getting their kids out on bikes more often. If the CDC had done any real public health research to back up the piss-poor messaging I still would rip this crap down for the sole reason that CORRELATION is NOT CAUSATION! just because a group A students reported getting more physical activity than some (even many) D or F students means JACK SQUAT about physical activity causing or even playing a role in their academic progress. Bike advocates do not need to associate with this kind of crapola. Most of our target audience already wants to bike on some level, giving them another shame-loaded and false rationale for why they ought to is not going to get them on the bike.
