Best of all, unlike the brick crosswalks Balt. City DOT is so fond of, it won’t get rutted by truck wheels and pose a hazard for cyclists and wheelchair users.
I have no idea why Baltimore can’t do bricks right (lowest bid contractor problem??) but they are not a problem elsewhere which makes it a harder problem to deal with here.
FWIW: A nicely done brick intersection in Tempe, AZ (I have no issues with it what so ever, so it can be done well.)
