looks like we need to get more women cycling. cycling is safer than walking on the sidewalk, and faster, yet most women choose to walk rather than ride a bike. men outnumber women 3-1 in their choice to bike.
I’d be interested in seeing non-working walking/cycling rates. This survey lists baltimore at ~16% with no access to car, but that’s workers. The real number is more like 33%, which is the highest in the country, save post-Katrina New Orleans and NYC. Those people have to be getting around somehow.
