\nWith regard to buses, MTA has begun to retrofit its bus fleet with front-mounted bicycle racks. This effort will occur in stages: procurement and installation of the racks; evaluation of increased bus parking requirements due to the additional space needed for racks; modification of work rules for drivers and mechanics to ensure that damage during day-to-day operations is minimized; revision of our published bike policy to establish rules, responsibilities and risks for riders; and work with the bicycle advocacy to publicize the new racks. Our timeframe to complete this work is approximately 12 months.<\/p>\n
