\nDiscovering Saxony’s Secret Green Architecture and Gardens”, which occurs

\nThe tour director, Roland Oehme, his wife Naoko Oehme, and Achim Muller will
\nbe your personal tour guides on this unique tour. Roland’s father, Wolfgang
\nOehme, the world renowned, German-born landscape architect, will also make
\nappearances on the tour. Roland, his father Wolfgang, and Achim have gained
\nspecial insights from years of practice in landscape architecture and garden
\ndesign, and from many years of travel to Germany visiting its significant
\nbuildings, parks, gardens, and unique garden shows.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe highlights of the tour include the Olympic of garden shows, the Federal
\nGarden Show of Germany 2007, Berlin’s magnificent botanic garden, Potsdam’s
\nhistoric & contemporary gardens (including the Foerster garden & nursery and
\nSanssouci (the summer residence of Friedrich the Great)), a fabulous
\nHundertwasser building with roofgarden, the Bauhaus architecture school &
\nWoerlitzerpark (one of the best German estate gardens in Dessau), the
\ndramatic restoration of the large open pit coal mine in Bitterfeld into a
\nrecreational paradise with large lakes, forests, and bike trails, Wolfgang
\nOehme designed meadow garden at Amber Lake, and the one of a kind Ferropolis
\nor “city of iron”.\n<\/p>\n
\nFurthermore, the tour will explore Germany’s pioneering and responsible
\nsociety actively pursuing a sustainable lifestyle, as exemplified in the
\nlatest in green building technology, recycling programs, beautiful public
\nparks and gardens, climate cooling roof gardens, lively pedestrian town
\ncenters, creatively fun playgrounds, hemp & organic food stores, solar &
\nwind power, delicious, healthy cuisine, and more unique and inspirational
\nplaces and people.\n<\/p>\n
\nThis tour is designed for the person with an adventurous spirit and the
\nability to exercise on some days. The tour will include walking large
\ndistances on most days; and on some days swimming and bike riding will be
\noptional. The tour will travel in large vans, use public transportation, and
\nwalk as necessary.\n<\/p>\n
\nLand costs are estimated to be $3,290, with a single room supplement of
\n$500. Included in the cost are the accommodations and transportation for 12
\ndays and 12 nights, all breakfasts, and 6 lunches & 6 dinners. Airfare is
