On the eve of the one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Red Emma’s will screen two films, "Prisoners of Katrina" and "I won’t Drown on the levee and you ain’t gonna break my back". The films take a critical look at how state and federal organizations dealt with the Katrina Crisis, and how those organizations neglected prisoners and criminalized survivors.<\/p>\n
This event will be held after the Critical Mass ride which is recognizing the one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina a "racist tragedy" and to raise awareness about the role of the oil industry and global warming in environmental injustice.<\/p>\n
