The Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan establishes a 20-year vision to support cycling and walking as modes of transportation in Maryland. The Plan will provide guidance and investment strategies to support cycling and walking, both on-road and off-road, as part of Maryland&#8217;s multimodal transportation network.<br \/>\nThe Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan will be coordinated with the Maryland Transportation Plan, or &quot;MTP&quot;, and other key statewide planning efforts. It will also address recently enacted federal transportation legislation, &quot;Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century.&quot;<br \/>\nMDOT plans to engage Maryland&#8217;s citizens, governmental agencies, and interested organizations so that the Plan update process addresses the needs of all of Maryland&#8217;s transportation stakeholders. A variety of methods will be used to gather public input, including public meetings, an online survey, and this website. In addition, an Advisory Committee including representatives of state agencies, local government and citizen representatives will be engaged throughout the planning process.<br \/>\n&#8230;<br \/>\nSchedule<br \/>\nThe Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan is being updated on the same schedule as the Maryland Transportation Plan, in accordance with State law.
