Select the Bicycle Facilities tab to view the bicycle recommendations of both the Eastern and Western plans.<\/p>\n The Western Baltimore County Pedestrian and Bicycle Access Plan is an “action plan” for constructing pedestrian and bicycle improvements in the urban area of the western side of Baltimore County in the First, Second, Third, and Fourth County Council Districts. The plan was developed by a technical advisory committee composed of representatives from the community and county and state government, based on the needs and desires expressed by the citizens who live or work in the area through several workshops. It identifies specific projects to be implemented and provides recommendations for supportive ecouragement, enforcement and educational programs. <\/p>\n Improved Livability<\/strong> — People walking and bicycling get to know their neighbors and strengthen the activity and liveliness within communities.<\/p>\n Less Traffic Congestion<\/strong> — If everyone substituted just one or two automobile trips a day with walking or bicycling, traffic congestion could be significantly reduced.
