{"id":206381418,"date":"2011-07-17T16:10:18","date_gmt":"2011-07-17T16:10:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.baltimorespokes.org\/?p=206381418"},"modified":"2011-07-17T16:10:18","modified_gmt":"2011-07-17T16:10:18","slug":"pedestrians-struck-in-salisbury-oc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.baltimorespokes.org\/?p=206381418","title":{"rendered":"Pedestrians struck in Salisbury, OC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SALISBURY \u2014 Authorities in Ocean City and Salisbury are investigating separate incidents of pedestrians struck by vehicles on Friday, including a 6-year-old boy.<br \/>\nBoth victims were conscious and remained hospitalized late Friday.<br \/>\nAbout 2 p.m., a 34-year-old man was pinned beneath a car near 123rd Street and Coastal Highway, according to the Ocean City Fire Department.<br \/>\nThe victim was freed after about 15 minutes by Ocean City firefighters and paramedics, the fire department said.<br \/>\nHe was conscious when transported by helicopter to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, authorities said.<br \/>\nAn hour later in Salisbury, a 6-year-old boy on a bicycle was struck by a commercial recycling truck, said Sgt. Jessica Hill at the Wicomico County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<br \/>\nThe boy was thrown, and the bicycle was pinned beneath the truck, Hill said.
