{"id":171228243,"date":"2010-06-05T19:24:03","date_gmt":"2010-06-05T19:24:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.baltimorespokes.org\/?p=171228243"},"modified":"2010-06-05T19:24:03","modified_gmt":"2010-06-05T19:24:03","slug":"commuting-101-dont-have-a-shower","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.baltimorespokes.org\/?p=171228243","title":{"rendered":"Commuting 101 : Don\u2019t Have a Shower?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>by Bike Shop Girl<\/p>\n<p>One large complaint or worry for beginner bike commuters is the lack of showering, or showing up sweaty to work.&nbsp; This is a valid worry and shouldn\u2019t be overlooked as your employer, co-worker or client may not appreciate the \u201cbiker look.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Top tips if you don\u2019t have a shower at work<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<dl style=\"width: 160px;\">\n<dt><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/bike\/4604159585\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Fritz\" src=\"https:\/\/commutebybike.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/4604159585_22039e7f6f_b-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/dt>\n<dd>Photo Credit : Fritz<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Wear wicking clothing.<\/strong> I actually avoid wearing padded shorts in the morning as it creates a \u201cfunk\u201d that you can\u2019t avoid.&nbsp; If my commute is shorter in distance I find a comfortable saddle and wear a stretchy, breathable pair of shorts.&nbsp; Either a jersey, or tech-t on top, comfortable shoes or maybe my cycling shoes for longer distances.<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.actionwipes.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Action Wipes<\/strong><\/a>.&nbsp; No joke, go buy them.&nbsp; I\u2019m not paid or bribed to say this (I have to say that by law,) but Action Wipes are in all my saddle bags and in my desk at work.&nbsp; A quick \u201cpocket shower\u201d with Action Wipes and re-installation of deodorant and I\u2019m fresh!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bring extra clothes<\/strong>.&nbsp; Don\u2019t worry about working up a sweat as you can use your Action Wipes to clean up and then put on all new clean clothes.
