One charity in the running is Rails-to-Trails. Rails-to-Trails has played a key role in the development of several local, region and national trails; including the Capital Crescent Trail and Metropolitan Branch Trail. Right now they are trailing <span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;\">the National Trust for Historic Preservation (another good cause) by a scant margin.
