font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Calibri;\">Bike parking at Artscape was a huge success for its first<br \/>\nyear.&nbsp; An estimated <b><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">600 bikes<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>were parked at the facility over the weekend!&nbsp; Many thanks to <b><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Mark Counselman<\/span><\/b> who managed the bike<br \/>\nparking and all the volunteers that helped out!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-family: Calibri;\">The Bob Moore Memorial <b><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Moonlight<br \/>\nMadness<\/span><\/b> ride brought out 200 cyclists on Thursday, July 30<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp;<br \/>\nAside from a couple wrecks and flats, a great time was had by all.&nbsp; It was<br \/>\ngreat to see that many bikes rolling up<br \/>\n Charles St , and still sharing the road<br \/>\nwith cars.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-family: Calibri;\">Last week, <b><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Mr. Jack<br \/>\nYates<\/span><\/b> was cycling Maryland<br \/>\n  Avenue when he was struck and killed by a<br \/>\nright-turning box truck.&nbsp;&nbsp; The truck did not stop and the police are<br \/>\nstill looking for the driver as the investigation is on-going.&nbsp; Anyone<br \/>\nwith information is urged to call 410-396-2100. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-family: Calibri;\">In memory of Mr. Yates, members of Baltimore \u2019s<br \/>\ncycling community stepped up and installed a <b><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">\u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ghostbikes.org\/\"><span style=\"color: black;\"><span style=\"color: windowtext;\">ghost<br \/>\nbike<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u201d<\/span><\/b> at the corner of<br \/>\n Lafayette and<br \/>\n Maryland Avenue .&nbsp; Ghost bikes are a<br \/>\nworldwide movement aimed at paying tribute to fallen cyclists and drawing<br \/>\nattention to greater road safety<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-family: Calibri;\">The Baltimore Metropolitan Council has completed the <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">BICYCLE COMMUTER RESOURCE GUIDE<\/span><\/span><\/b> for the<br \/>\nBaltimore Region.&nbsp; The guide contains an array of information road rules,<br \/>\noutfitting your bike, and where to ride.&nbsp; The guide also contains<br \/>\ninformation for employers on how to encourage employees to commute by<br \/>\nbike.&nbsp; The guide is available from DOT Planning (410-396-6856) and the Baltimore<br \/>\nMetropolitan Council (410-732-0500).&nbsp; The guide will also be available<br \/>\nonline.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-weight: bold;\">New Bike Parking \u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">The Department of<br \/>\nTransportation\u2019s Maintenance Division has installed a total of <b><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">107 bike racks<\/span><\/b> this year!&nbsp;
